Terms of Use
These terms apply when you use yueyugem.com, download or buy my resources, or book coaching with me. I’m Gem, and 閱與Gem is my one-person business. By using the site or my resources you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use them.
1. Educational information only
My resources, quiz and coaching share teaching methods based on the Science of Reading. They are general education, not a diagnosis or a substitute for advice from a speech-language pathologist, psychologist, doctor or your child’s school. The placement quiz is an informal guide, not a formal assessment. Every child learns differently, and I can’t promise any particular result.
2. Buying and downloading resources
- Free and paid resources are sold and delivered by Payhip. Payhip processes payment; I never see your card details. Prices are shown before you pay.
- Please pick the correct edition (简体拼音 or 繁體注音). I ask you to confirm it before checkout.
- Digital downloads are delivered immediately. By completing checkout you ask me to deliver the file right away, and you agree that once it’s delivered you can’t cancel for a refund. For buyers in Taiwan, this is the digital-content exception to the 7-day cancellation right (通訊交易解除權合理例外情事適用準則, Art. 2(5)).
- Refunds are given for corrupted files and duplicate purchases, as set out in my Product Disclaimer, and wherever else the law requires one. Nothing here limits refund rights the law gives you.
- The Product Disclaimer forms part of these terms.
3. How you may use my resources
- You may print and use them with the children in your own household. Classroom or co-op use is allowed only with an educator licence, where I explicitly offer one. The full licence is in section 5 of my Product Disclaimer.
- You may not resell, share, upload, post or send the files to others (including on file-sharing, teacher-marketplace or social media sites), rebrand them or claim authorship, or use them commercially without my written permission.
- I keep all copyright and other rights in the site, resources, text and images. Buying a resource gives you a licence to use it as above, not ownership of the content.
4. 1:1 coaching sessions
- Sessions are booked through my scheduling tool at the price shown when you book.
- You can reschedule or cancel for a full refund up to 24 hours before the session. Later cancellations or missed sessions may not be refunded, unless the law requires otherwise.
- If I have to cancel, I’ll offer you a new time or a full refund.
- A parent or guardian must be present or reachable during any session with a child.
5. Using this site
Please don’t misuse the site: no attempts to break in or overload it, no automated scraping, and no abusive, unlawful or spam messages through the forms.
6. Links to other sites
The site links to services like Payhip, my booking tool, social media and research articles. I don’t control them, and their own terms and privacy policies apply.
7. Disclaimer and limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, the site and resources are provided “as is”, and I’m not liable for indirect or consequential losses. My total liability for any claim about a purchase is limited to the amount you paid me for it. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that can’t be excluded by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer, for example under Taiwan’s Consumer Protection Act or California law.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. If you are a consumer living elsewhere (including Taiwan), you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts.
9. Privacy, changes and contact
My Privacy Policy explains how I handle your information. I may update these terms; the date below shows the latest version, and changes don’t affect purchases you’ve already made. Questions? Use my contact form.
